New microapps use Builder 2.0 unless you choose otherwise, and Builder 1.0 is still available whenever you need it. This article explains how the choice works, what happens to existing microapps, and how to decide. | **Recently Updated:** Builder 2.0 is now the default when you create a new microapp. Builder 1.0 is still available in the creation dialog. | | --- | ### **How the Builder Is Chosen** | **When You** | **The Microapp Opens In** | | --- | --- | | **Create a new microapp** | Builder 2.0, unless you select Builder 1.0 before you confirm. | | **Open an existing microapp** | The builder it was created in. Existing microapps are never moved automatically. | | **Duplicate a microapp** | The same builder as the original. | | **Create from a template** | The same builder as the template. | ### **Creating a Builder 1.0 microapp** 1\. **Select the + button** — in the Tiled Hub to open the Create Microapp dialog. 2\. **Select Builder 1.0.** — Builder 2.0 is selected by default. 3\. **Finish creating the microapp** — as usual. It opens in Builder 1.0. In Builder 2.0 you add a format with Add; in Builder 1.0, with Create Size. | | --- | ### **If Your Team Uses Builder 1.0** Builder 1.0 is still fully supported, and there’s no planned date to retire it. Keep selecting it when you create microapps if a workflow depends on it. New features are focused on Builder 2.0, so it’s worth checking whether that workflow now works there. Existing Builder 1.0 microapps stay in Builder 1.0, so there’s no risk to your current work. | | --- | ### **Tips for teams** • **Update onboarding** — new team members will start in Builder 2.0, so point training and internal guides to Builder 2.0 articles. • **Check your templates** — microapps created from a template or a duplicate keep its builder. A Builder 1.0 template still creates Builder 1.0 microapps. • **Agree on a default** — if your team standardizes on one builder, say so in your guidelines so everyone makes the same choice in the creation dialog. | **Try It Yourself:** Create a Builder 2.0 test microapp, sync or copy in two pages from an existing Builder 1.0 microapp, and rebuild their interactions. It’s the fastest way to see what changes for your team. | | --- | ### **Common Questions** | **Question** | **Answer** | | --- | --- | | **Will my existing microapps move to Builder 2.0?** | No. Existing microapps stay in the builder they were created in. | | **Can I still create a Builder 1.0 microapp?** | Yes. Select Builder 1.0 in the Create Microapp dialog before you confirm, or duplicate an existing Builder 1.0 microapp. | | **My new microapp opened in Builder 2.0. Is that right?** | Yes. Builder 2.0 is selected by default. To work in Builder 1.0, create a new microapp and select Builder 1.0, or duplicate a Builder 1.0 microapp. | | **Is Builder 1.0 going away?** | There’s no planned date to retire it. New features are focused on Builder 2.0. | | **Which builder should I use?** | Builder 2.0, unless you rely on something that only works in Builder 1.0.
