Custom Template Creation & Seismic Account Type

1. Purpose & Scope

This article documents two features shipped in Tiled v50.0.0: Custom Template Creation and the new Seismic Account Type. These are bundled in a single article due to their shared scope as platform configuration improvements.

Scope: Custom Template Creation is available to Library Administrators and Editors with template management permissions. The Seismic Account Type is relevant to Tiled accounts used within the Seismic platform integration.

2. Custom Template Creation

Authors can now create and manage account-level templates directly within Tiled, without requiring support assistance or a custom implementation. Account templates provide a standardized starting point for new microapp creation, ensuring brand consistency, layout standards, and pre-configured tile structures are available to all creators in the account.

Create a Template	From a finalized microapp, use the template management action to save it as an account template. The microapp's layout, tiles, and configuration are saved as the template baseline.
Manage Templates	Account templates are managed from the Library settings or template management panel. Templates can be updated, renamed, or archived.
Use a Template	When creating a new microapp, account templates appear alongside global Tiled templates in the creation modal. Creators select an account template to start from a branded, pre-configured baseline.
Access Control	Template creation and management is restricted to users with the appropriate Library Administrator or template management permission. Viewing and using templates is available to all Editors.

3. Seismic Account Type

A new Seismic account type has been introduced in Tiled account setup and configuration, surfaced as part of the Seismic alignment track in the June 2025 PMM materials. This account type designation enables Tiled to apply the correct configuration, defaults, and integration settings for accounts that operate within the Seismic platform environment.

Customer Visibility	The Seismic account type is visible in account setup workflows and administrative settings. End users do not encounter this designation directly during microapp creation or sharing.
Effect on Workflows	Accounts configured as Seismic accounts receive Seismic-appropriate defaults for microapp delivery, viewer settings, and integration behavior. Specific behavioral differences are documented in the Seismic integration runbook.
SOC 2 Context	Account type configuration is an access and provisioning control. The Seismic account type ensures that Seismic-integrated accounts are correctly scoped without manual configuration overhead, reducing misconfiguration risk.

4. QA Validation
