# Getting Started for Admins

## Welcome to Tiled. This page is your starting point as an account administrator — setting up your account, managing users and permissions, configuring security defaults, sharing microapps with your audience, and reading the engagement data that comes back. Each link below opens a full guide.

### **Before You Begin: Which Builder Are You Using?**

Tiled has two builders, and knowing which one your account uses will save you time as you work through these guides. A few features — adaptive formats and parts of the Engagement dashboard among them — behave differently between the two.

| **Builder** | **What it means for you** |
| --- | --- |
| **Builder 2.0** | The new default builder. All new microapps are created here, and it is where ongoing feature work lands — adaptive formats, the redesigned Engagement dashboard, and the newest tiles and settings. |
| **Builder 1.0** | The previous builder. Microapps created before your account moved to 2.0 continue to work, and most guides here apply to both. Where behavior differs, articles carry a Builder version badge. |

| **Pro Tip:** Throughout the knowledge base, look for the version badge at the top of each article. A green Builder 1.0 & 2.0 badge means the guide applies to both. A blue Builder 2.0 badge means the feature is only in the new default builder. |

Users must be added to your Tiled account before they can be given access to any library. Roles decide what each person can do once they are in.

| **Heads Up:** Roles are worth reading before you add your first users. Analytics access in particular is role-gated: Base users cannot see engagement data at all, so a team that needs reporting should not be set up as Base. |

Set your account-level sharing rules before your team starts sending microapps. These defaults save you from correcting individual share links later.

| **Heads Up:** Account-level share link defaults apply only to NEW microapps. Existing microapps and their share links are unaffected, so set these early — or plan to update older microapps individually in Microapp Settings. |

### **Broadcasting Live Sessions**

Broadcast lets you present a microapp to a live audience without a separate screen-sharing tool, and captures audience engagement for analytics afterward.

### **Common Questions**

| **Question** | **Answer** |
| --- | --- |
| **What should I set up first?** | Roles and account-level sharing defaults, before you add users or your team creates microapps. Both are easier to get right at the start than to correct across an account later — sharing defaults in particular apply only to new microapps. |
| **Do I need to add users to each library separately?** | Users are added to the account first, then given library access. Account Admins are the exception — they receive access to every library automatically. |
| **My team can’t see engagement data. Why?** | Analytics access is role-based. Base users have no access to analytics at all. Editors and above can view engagement and export data. Check the Roles article, then adjust roles in User Management. |
| **Which builder is my account on?** | Builder 2.0 is the new default for new microapps, but accounts can have microapps from both. See Which Builder Am I Using? for how to tell, and look for the version badge at the top of each article. |
| **Do these guides apply to Builder 1.0 microapps?** | Most do. Where behavior differs between builders, the article carries a version badge and calls out the difference — adaptive formats and parts of the Engagement dashboard are the main places the two diverge. |
