States allow you to nest similar pages together without taking up space in the pages section on the left-hand side of the builder. In the Tiled Builder, states are seen as smaller sub-pages that are grouped with the source page.
To add a state, navigate to the desired page in your microapp using the Tiled Builder. Then, do one of the following:
- Click the Add state icon below the main page to create a state. A blank state is added to the page.
- Drag a graphic asset that is larger than the microapp page from the Assets panel to the Add state icon. The state is added to the page with the graphic as its background image.
When you create a state, the Tiled Builder adds the source page as a state for navigation purposes.
Once created, you can only navigate to a state, by first navigating to the source page and then selecting the state.
Linking to a state
When using tiles that have a link to another page (for example, a Hotspot or Quiz tile), you can use a state as the destination target. You can only link to a state associated with the current microapp page.
The graphic below shows a sample Hotspot Settings. The source page (Viewer) is listed first.
Duplicating a state
If you have a state that you want to use as a base for additional states, you can duplicate it. Right-click the desired state beneath the microapp page and select Duplicate. The duplicated state appears as the right-most state in the list of states for the microapp page.
Altering the Page Role for a state
The Page Role feature allows you to change an existing microapp page to a state of another page, as well as change a state into its own microapp page.
- Change a microapp page to a state
To change a microapp page to a state of another page, first navigate to the desired page. Click the Page Role dropdown list under the Tiles Panel and select State. The Parent dropdown list is then displayed.. Click the dropdown list and select the desired microapp page.
The page is now a state of the selected microapp page.
- Change a state to its own microapp page
To change a state of a microapp page to its own page, navigate to the desired state. Click the Page Role dropdown list under the Tiles Panel and select Normal. The page is added as the last page of the microapp.
Deleting a state
If you have a state that you want to remove from your microapp page, you can delete it. Right-click the desired state beneath the microapp page and select Delete. Then click OK from the displayed confirmation window.
Note: Even though it is listed as a state, you cannot delete the source page.
