Restricting Share Links to Verified Emails

Let’s walk through Verified Email Sharing — a way to restrict who can open a share link to specific email addresses or domains, with an added one-time passcode step for extra assurance.

What Verified Email Sharing Does

Verified Email Sharing lets you restrict a share link to specific email addresses or entire domains. When enabled with verification, a viewer must also enter a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to their email before the microapp opens — confirming they actually control that inbox, not just that they typed a matching address.

Setting the Default for New Microapps

Account Admins can set an account-wide default so every new microapp starts with the same sharing restrictions. This lives in Account Settings > General.

Heads Up: This default only applies to new microapps created after the setting is turned on. It does not change sharing behavior on microapps that already exist.

1. Go to Account Settings — and open the General tab.

2. Find the sharing defaults section — for new microapps.

3. Set your restriction — specific email addresses, one or more domains, or both.

4. Choose whether to require verification — toggle on if you want viewers to confirm access with a one-time passcode.

5. Save — your changes. All new microapps now inherit this default.

Overriding the Default on a Specific Microapp

The same settings are available per microapp, in that microapp’s Settings > Sharing tab, for cases where one microapp needs different restrictions than the account default.

1. Open the microapp’s Settings — and go to the Sharing tab.

2. Adjust the email or domain restriction — for this microapp specifically.

3. Save — this microapp now follows its own setting instead of the account default.

Pro Tip: Use domain restriction for a broad internal or partner rollout (anyone @yourpartner.com), and specific email restriction for a tightly controlled, individually named list of recipients.
