How to Use Stock Assets in the Builder

Overview

The Stock Assets tab in the asset picker gives you access to millions of free photos and videos from Pexels. You can search, preview, and insert assets directly into your microapp without leaving the Builder.

Prerequisites

• Editor role or higher on the microapp you're working in.
• An image or video tile already placed (or being added) on the canvas.

How to Insert a Stock Asset

1. Open a microapp in the Builder and select an existing image or video tile — or add a new one to the canvas.
2. Open the asset picker.
3. Click the Stock Assets tab.
4. Enter a keyword in the search bar to browse the Pexels library. Both photos and video clips are available.
5. Click any result to insert it directly into the selected tile.

Licensing

All assets available through the Stock Assets tab are free to use under the Pexels license. Tiled does not charge additional fees for stock asset access.

Important: The quality, availability, and licensing terms of individual assets are governed by Pexels, not Tiled. We recommend reviewing the Pexels license terms before using stock assets in customer-facing microapps, particularly in regulated industries.

Do I need a Pexels account to use stock assets?
No — stock asset search and insertion is available directly in the Builder. No external account is needed.

Are both photos and videos available?
Yes — both stock photography and stock video clips are available through the Stock Assets tab.

Is there an additional cost to use stock assets?
No — stock asset access is included at no extra charge. All Pexels assets are free under the Pexels license.

What if a specific asset is unavailable or the search returns no results?
Asset availability is managed by Pexels. If an asset is no longer available, try a different search term or browse a related category.
