How to Search and Filter Your Library by Tag

This guide explains how to use tags to search and filter microapps in your Tiled Library — making it faster to find the right content in large or shared libraries.

Overview

Tags are labels you can apply to microapps to organize them by topic, campaign, product line, audience, or any other category your team uses. Once tags are applied, you can search and filter your Library by tag to quickly surface the microapps you need — without scrolling through a long list or remembering exact names.

How to Search by Tag

  1. Go to your Tiled Library.
  2. Type a tag term into the search bar. The Library filters to show only microapps that have that tag applied.

How to Filter by Tag

  1. In the Library, locate the tag filters in the sidebar or filter panel.
  2. Click a tag to filter the Library to microapps with that tag.
  3. Select additional tags to narrow results further — multiple tag filters can be combined for more precise results.

Tags applied to a microapp are also visible on its microapp card in the Library, so you can see at a glance how content is categorized without opening it.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Tag Search

Tag search works best when your team applies tags consistently. Here are some approaches to consider when building out your tag taxonomy:

Tag type Examples
Product line ProductA, ProductB
Campaign or quarter Q3-2025, SpringCampaign
Audience Enterprise, SMB, Healthcare
Content status Draft, Approved, Archived

The more consistently tags are applied across your library, the more useful tag search becomes — especially as your microapp count grows.

Important: Tags are not an access control mechanism. All Library users can see and use tags regardless of who applied them. Do not use tags to restrict who can view content — use sharing and permissions settings for that purpose.

Common Questions

Can I combine tag filters with a name search?
Yes — tag filters and name search work together. You can type a name in the search bar and apply tag filters at the same time to narrow results by both criteria.

Who can add and manage tags?
Users with Editor access or above can add and edit tags on microapps. All Library users can see and filter by tags.

Can I create a standard set of tags for my whole team to use?
Tags are freeform — there's no enforced taxonomy. Establishing a shared tagging convention with your team (and documenting it somewhere accessible) is the best way to keep your Library consistently organized.

I applied a tag but it's not showing up in search — what should I check?
Make sure the tag was saved on the microapp. Open the microapp's settings or tag management view and confirm the tag appears there. If it does and search still isn't reflecting it, try refreshing the Library view.
