[v64.0.0](https://support.tiled.co/new-releases#v64-0-0) # Tiled for Desktop ## Let’s walk through Tiled for Desktop — the native Mac and Windows app built for sellers who present without reliable wifi, and for creators who work with files stored on their own machine. Newest version adds a Contacts page and lets you create personalized instances right from the app. | **Early Alpha:** Tiled for Desktop is in early alpha and available to a limited set of testers. To join, email support@tiled.co. The team will set up a call to walk through it, confirm whether your use case fits, and get you set up. | | --- | ### **What the Desktop App Does** | **Capability** | **What It Means** | | --- | --- | | **Present offline** | Select Save offline on a microapp’s card to keep it on your machine. Once it shows Available offline, it runs without an internet connection. | | **Open in a new window** | Open any microapp in its own window — useful for presenting on a second screen while the app stays open behind it. | | **Contacts (new)** | See everyone you’ve shared with, their engagement, and their latest activity, without leaving the app. | | **Create instances (new)** | Create a new personalized instance from the instance picker, the same way you can in the Tiled Hub. | | **Mac and Windows** | Available for both. Recent activity tells you what someone opened last, and when — often the best place to pick the conversation up. | | --- | ### **Personalized Instances** Two changes make working with personalized microapps quicker on desktop. ### **The instance picker only appears when it’s needed** The instance picker now appears only for microapps that have personalization. Every other microapp opens straight to its default view, with no extra step. | **Heads Up:** If you open a microapp and don’t see the instance picker, that’s expected — the microapp has no personalization. | | --- | When it does appear, the Select an Instance window gives you a few ways to get where you’re going: | **Option** | **What It Does** | | --- | --- | | **Search instances** | Find an instance by name. | | **All Instances / My Instances** | Show every instance on the microapp, or only your own. | | **View Default** | Skip instances and open the microapp’s default view. | | **Create new instance** | Start a new personalized instance (see below). | ### **Creating a new instance** You can now create a new personalized instance from the desktop app, matching what’s available in the Tiled Hub. 1\. **Open a personalized microapp** — the Select an Instance window appears. 2\. **Select Create new instance** — at the bottom of the window. 3\. **Name the instance** — and save it. 4\. **Start personalizing** — the new instance opens once it’s created. ### **Personalizing an instance** Editing an instance lists each of the microapp’s personalized fields, with its current value. For each one, you can: • Enter text, for text fields. • Select Choose File to upload an image or video from your machine. • Paste an https URL instead of uploading a file. • Select Clear to remove the current value. Select Save & Continue when you’re done, or Cancel to leave the instance unchanged. | **Try It Yourself:** Open a personalized microapp, create a test instance, fill in one field with an uploaded file and another with a pasted URL, then present it in its own window. Other microapps open straight to their default view. | | **Can I open a personalized microapp without choosing an instance?** | Yes. Select View Default in the Select an Instance window. | | **Can I create a personalized instance in the desktop app?** | Yes. Select Create new instance at the bottom of the Select an Instance window, name it, and save. It opens once it’s created. | | **Where do I find the people I’ve shared with?** | Select the Contacts icon in the sidebar, next to My Shares. Selecting a contact opens their shares and activity. | | **A microapp I republished still shows the old version.** | This is fixed in v66.0.0. Select Sync at the top of the app; republished microapps now show the latest changes after syncing, and Update Available downloads the new version. | | **How do I get the desktop app?** | Tiled for Desktop is in early alpha and available on request. Email support@tiled.co to join. | ### **Reliability Fixes in v66.0.0** This release also resolves six desktop issues, covering republished microapps not syncing, failed document downloads, fallback fonts in the viewer, library order not saving, YouTube videos crashing the viewer, and a slow instance picker on large accounts.
