How to Browse and Swap Image or Video Assets in the Viewer
This guide explains how to browse the asset library and swap images or videos within a microapp session — including how selection confirmation and cancellation work to prevent accidental changes.
Overview
When you're in a microapp that allows asset selection or swapping, the asset browsing panel lets you choose a different image or video from the library. The panel is designed to prevent two common problems: accidentally losing your current asset when you cancel browsing, and inadvertently confirming an asset swap before you've made a clear selection.
How Asset Browsing Works
- Open the image or video asset browsing panel within your microapp session.
- Browse the asset library — scroll, filter by category, or search by keyword.
- When you find an asset you want, click it to select it. A selection ring and check state appear on the selected asset, and the confirmation button activates.
- Click Confirm to swap the asset. The panel closes and your selection is applied.
- If you change your mind at any point, click Cancel — your current asset is kept and nothing changes.
Key Behaviors
Cancelling preserves your current asset
If you open the asset panel and then cancel without confirming a selection, your existing asset is always retained. Cancelling never resets or removes the current asset.
Confirmation is required to swap
The confirmation button remains inactive until you explicitly select an asset. This prevents accidentally swapping an asset without making a clear choice.
Panel state is preserved during your session
If you close and reopen the asset panel, your previous browse state — including scroll position, active category, and any search query — is preserved for the duration of your session, so you don't have to start over each time.
Common Questions
I cancelled out of the asset panel and my current asset disappeared — what happened?
This should no longer occur. Cancelling the asset panel always retains your current asset. If you're still seeing assets reset on cancel, try refreshing your session and contact support if the issue persists.
The confirm button isn't activating — what should I do?
The confirmation button only becomes active after you've explicitly clicked an asset to select it. Look for the selection ring and check indicator on your chosen asset to confirm it's selected before clicking Confirm.
Does my search or filter reset every time I open the panel?
No — the panel remembers your scroll position, category filter, and search query for the duration of your session. If you start a new session or refresh the page, the panel resets to its default state.
