Add Tags During Creation and Editing
New tag entry points in the creation and editing flows make tagging part of the standard microapp workflow
This article documents the Add Tags During Creation and Editing feature, shipped in Tiled v50.0.0. Prior to this release, tagging was a separate Library management step that creators often skipped. New 'Add Tags' entry points embedded in the creation and editing workflows make tagging a natural part of the standard flow, improving taxonomy consistency across the library.
Scope: All Tiled users with Editor access and above who create or edit microapps.
2. Feature Description
Tags can now be added to a microapp at two new points in the creation and editing workflow, in addition to the Library management view:
|
During Creation |
When creating a new microapp (from scratch, template, or design tool import), the creation flow now includes an Add Tags step. Creators can apply taxonomy tags before saving the microapp to the Library, ensuring new content is tagged at origin rather than requiring a post-creation cleanup step. |
|
During Editing |
While editing an existing microapp in the Builder, creators can add or update tags directly from the editing interface without leaving the Builder and navigating to the Library to manage metadata. |
3. Why This Matters for Taxonomy Consistency
The primary barrier to consistent tagging in shared libraries is friction — when tagging requires a separate navigation step after creation, it is frequently skipped, especially under time pressure. Embedding tag entry points in the creation and editing flow reduces this friction to near-zero, making tagged microapps the default rather than the exception.
