Tile Grouping (Generally Available) & Multi-Tile Edits

Tile Grouping is now on for all Builder 2.0 users; Multi-Tile Edits enable bulk property updates across selected tiles

1. Tile Grouping — Now Generally Available

Tile Grouping is now enabled for all Builder 2.0 users. Previously available as an opt-in preview, grouping is now a standard part of the Builder 2.0 Layers panel. This completes the Layers panel feature set introduced across v60 and v61.

1.1 Tile Grouping Features

Create a Group

Select multiple tiles and group them from the Layers panel or right-click context menu. Grouped tiles move and behave together.

Group Edit Mode

Double-click a group to enter group edit mode and work on individual tiles within the group.

Rename Groups

Double-click a group name in the Layers panel to rename it.

Reorder Within Groups

Drag tiles within a group in the Layers panel to change their stacking order.

Hide / Show a Group

Toggle group visibility to show or hide all tiles in the group simultaneously.

Lock Groups (TD-6645)

Lock a group to prevent all tiles within it from being selected, moved, or edited — ideal for finalized brand elements or background structures.

Resize Groups

Resize the group container; all tiles within scale proportionally.

Hotkeys (TD-6731)

Use keyboard shortcuts to navigate into a group and select individual tiles without using the Layers panel.

Multi-Select Resize Within Groups (TD-6732)

Select multiple tiles within a group and resize them together while maintaining their relative proportions.

Selection & Hover Polish (TD-6698, TD-6710)

Selection behavior in the Layers panel and hover/selection border rendering are now consistent and correct across all group interactions.

Export & Import

Group structure is preserved through microapp export and import.

2. Multi-Tile Edits (Builder 2.0)

The Properties panel in Builder 2.0 now supports bulk property updates when multiple tiles are selected. Creators can update shared properties — fill color, border, opacity, text formatting, and more — across a selection of tiles in a single action, replacing the previous per-tile approach.

2.1 Multi-Tile Editing Features

Same Tile Type (TD-6629)

Select multiple tiles of the same type (e.g., multiple image tiles) and edit their shared properties simultaneously. All shared properties are editable; properties unique to each tile are not shown.

Different Tile Types (TD-6630)

Select tiles of different types and edit the properties they have in common. The Properties panel shows only the properties shared by all selected tile types.

Undo Multi-Tile Edits (TD-6631)

Undo reverses a multi-tile edit as a single action, restoring all affected tiles to their state before the bulk edit.

Mixed Property Display (TD-6637)

When selected tiles have different values for the same property (e.g., different fill colors), the Properties panel shows 'Mixed' rather than a single value, indicating that applying a new value will override the existing varied values.

2.2 How to Use Multi-Tile Edits

14. Select two or more tiles on the canvas (Shift+click or drag to select).

15. The Properties panel updates to show the properties available for the selection.

16. Edit any property in the panel — the change applies to all selected tiles.

17. Where tiles have different values for a property, the field shows 'Mixed'. Entering a new value replaces all existing values for that property across the selection.

18. Use Undo (Cmd+Z / Ctrl+Z) to reverse a multi-tile edit as a single step.
