Personalization Enablement in Microapp Settings

1. Purpose & Scope

This article documents two personalization enablement improvements shipped in Tiled v55.0.1: the ability to enable or disable personalization at the microapp level via Microapp Settings (TD-6232), and an update that causes the Seismic viewer to open personalized microapps with the personalization panel active by default (TD-6229).

Scope: All Tiled Library Administrators and Editors managing microapps that use personalization. Seismic integration customers distributing personalized microapps through the Seismic platform.

2. Feature 1: Personalization Enable/Disable in Microapp Settings (TD-6232)

Personalization can now be enabled or disabled at the microapp level from the Microapp Settings panel. This provides a single, authoritative control for whether personalization is active for a given microapp, rather than relying on individual tile configurations to determine the personalization state.

Personalization: Enabled	Personalized tiles are active. Viewers and share link recipients see personalization prompts and the personalized content experience.
Personalization: Disabled	Personalization fields are suppressed. Viewers see the default content for all tiles, regardless of personalization configuration. Useful for testing or for sharing a 'generic' version of a personalized microapp.
Default State	New microapps have personalization disabled by default. Existing microapps with personalized tiles retain their prior behavior.

2.1 Enabling Personalization in Microapp Settings

12. Open the microapp in the Tiled Library.

13. Navigate to Microapp Settings (gear icon or settings menu on the microapp card).

14. Locate the Personalization section.

15. Toggle Personalization to Enabled.

16. Save the settings. Personalized tiles are now active for all viewers and share links for this microapp.

3. Feature 2: Seismic Viewer Opens Personalization by Default (TD-6229)

When a personalized Tiled microapp is viewed within the Seismic platform, the Seismic viewer now automatically opens with the personalization panel visible and active. Previously, Seismic users had to discover and manually open the personalization panel, leading to low personalization engagement rates.

Before v55.0.0	Seismic viewer opened microapps without the personalization panel visible. Users had to locate and open the panel manually to interact with personalized content.
After v55.0.1	Seismic viewer opens microapps with the personalization panel visible by default for microapps with personalization enabled. The viewer's first-view experience immediately invites personalization interaction.
Condition	Applies only to microapps with Personalization enabled in Microapp Settings (TD-6232). Microapps without personalization enabled are unaffected.
Customer Impact	Seismic customers see an immediate improvement in personalization engagement rates without any configuration change required.

4. Roles & Access Requirements

Library Administrator	Can enable or disable personalization in Microapp Settings for any microapp in their library.
Editor	Can enable or disable personalization for microapps they own or have edit access to.
Viewer (Seismic)	Sees the personalization panel by default when opening a personalized microapp in Seismic.
Viewer (Share Link)	Sees personalization prompts for microapps with personalization enabled. Personalization state respects the microapp-level setting.

5. QA Validation

QA Scope: Personalization defaults in the Seismic viewer and share-link personalization rendering were validated in the v55.0.1 QA cycle.
