Seismic Viewer Reliability & Endpoint Permissions

Hotspot and loader issues resolved in the Seismic viewer; share instance stability improved; permissions aligned with latest Seismic requirements

1. Purpose & Scope

This article documents Seismic integration improvements shipped in Tiled v56.0.0. Three bug fixes address viewer-side reliability issues — hotspot behavior, loader display, and share instance stability — and one feature update aligns the Seismic endpoint permissions with Seismic's latest integration requirements.

Scope: Tiled customers using the Seismic integration to distribute and view Tiled microapps within the Seismic platform. Tiled Library Administrators responsible for the Seismic integration configuration.

2. Feature: Seismic Endpoint Permissions Update (TD-6343)

The Tiled Seismic integration endpoint has been updated to align with Seismic's latest API and permissions requirements. This is a compatibility update rather than a new feature — it ensures the integration continues to function correctly as Seismic evolves its integration model.

Change

Endpoint permission scopes updated to match Seismic's current integration specification. No change to the data transmitted or the user-visible integration behavior.

Customer Impact

Transparent. Existing Seismic integrations continue to function without any administrator action required.

Why It Matters

Without this update, the integration endpoint would fail to authorize correctly against the current Seismic API, causing microapp delivery failures in the Seismic viewer for affected customers.

SOC 2 Criteria

CC9.2 (Vendor & Third-Party Risk) — maintaining alignment with third-party integration requirements is part of ongoing supplier relationship management.

3. Bug Fixes — Seismic Viewer Reliability

Ticket

Area

Resolution

TD-6132

Seismic Viewer — Hotspots

Hotspot tiles within microapps viewed in the Seismic viewer were not functioning correctly — click targets were not registering or were offset from their visual position. The hotspot hit-target calculation has been corrected for the Seismic viewer context, ensuring click areas align with the visual hotspot regions.

TD-6363

Seismic Viewer — Loader

The microapp loader (loading indicator) displayed in the Seismic viewer was not dismissing correctly after microapp content finished loading. In some cases the loader persisted over loaded content, blocking interaction. The loader lifecycle is now correctly tied to content-ready events in the Seismic viewer context.

TD-6355

Seismic — Share Instance Stability

Share instances of Tiled microapps accessed via Seismic were experiencing intermittent stability issues — specifically, certain share configurations produced errors on initial load or during navigation within the shared microapp. Share instance initialization in the Seismic context has been stabilized.

4. Seismic Integration Health — Ongoing Monitoring

The Seismic integration has seen multiple reliability improvements across recent releases (v56.0.0, v57.0.0 — see also KB-v57-04, and v58.0.0 Seismic export update KB-v58-04). Administrators managing Seismic-connected libraries should monitor the following indicators of integration health:

Microapp load success rate in the Seismic viewer — a high rate of loader timeouts or errors may indicate an endpoint permission or configuration issue.

Hotspot click-through rate in Seismic-delivered microapps — a sudden drop may indicate a viewer rendering regression.

Share instance error rate — visible in the Tiled Engagement dashboard for Seismic-distributed share links.

5. Audit Evidence

TD-6343 (Seismic endpoint permissions): constitutes CC9.2 evidence — the integration was updated to maintain compatibility with the third-party vendor's current requirements, confirming active supplier relationship management.

TD-6132, TD-6363, TD-6355: constitute CC4.2 (Evaluation of Control Deficiencies) evidence — identified defects in the Seismic viewer integration were remediated within the v56.0.0 release cycle.
