General

The General Settings of your microapp will allow you to adjust some of the most important information about your microapp, especially how your microapp appears to others.

Set a cover image

Screenshot 2025-05-16 at 11.25.55 AM

The cover image for your microapp displays both in the Library - as well as part of a splash loading screen on shared microapps. The recommended size for this image is 504px x 224px.

You can adjust this image with one of your own either by:

  1. Uploading an image (jpg, png) from your local device
  2. Selecting a cover image from your Microapp Assets or the Asset Library

Microapp name

The title of your microapp will be visible in the Tiled Library, as well as any time you share your microapp. NOTE: Not all browsers support emoji's so be conscious that the name of your microapp is accurate and descriptive of your content.

Description

Add a description of your microapp for Library users to review before they enter into the viewer.

Design File

This section allows you to associate your microapp with a Figma, Adobe XD or Sketch file. Associating your microapp with its design file is considered best practice, so that other team members have access to the design file and to provide a central location for the most up-to-date designs. You do not have to add a design file to create a microapp.

Navigation & Interaction

Enable EZ Navigation

Toggling this on adds simple navigational Next/Back arrows to your published microapp. It's especially helpful when starting from a PDF.

Default Close Button

This image will appear as the default close button on all overlays and images that are clicked to full-screen, in your microapp. You have the ability to customize this image either by:

  1. Uploading an image (jpg, png) from your local device
  2. Selecting a cover image from your Microapp Assets or the Asset Library

Touchscreen swipe behavior

Swipe behavior controls the transitions of microapp pages when viewing a microapp on a tablet or mobile device from the Tiled app. Microapps with gallery, embed, or custom tiles will not be impacted by modifying this setting. The available swipe options are:

  • Slide
  • Jump
  • Do Nothing

Completion Events

Download All Completion Events

Export a CSV containing all completion events found in this microapp. Completion Events are analytics markers that indicate if microapp viewers got to a certain page, video, hotspot, etc.

Add a Webhook URL

Webhooks are one way that apps can send automated messages or information to other apps. You can configure a webhook URL for your microapp to either GET / POST information elsewhere. Learn more about Webhooks.

Sharing

The microapp sharing settings are specific features that are intended to control the way in your microapp appears when shared externally.

Require a Tiled Account

Previously known as "Internal Only", toggling this option on means that your microapp will only be available for viewing within the Tiled Library; the sharing modal will no longer be available.

Password Protection

For microapps with sensitive information, you have the ability to enable Password Protection. This will be shown in the Share Modal where users will be able to set a custom password OR have a random password generated for them. Screenshot 2025-05-15 at 10.33.45 PM

Link Expiration

Shared links to this microapp will expire after a specified duration. The minimum duration available is 1 hour and there is currently no max. Screenshot 2025-05-15 at 10.30.23 PM

Personalization

Personalization is a great way to "templatize" your microapp content for a specific recipient or group. By enabling personalization you can empower base users the ability to create microapp instances so that non-designers can harness the power of interactive experiences and personalize presentations, reports or any other content for their audiences.
While you can create personalizable fields from the canvas, the management (i.e. editing & deletion) of these fields is only possible from the Microapp Settings modal for Personalization.

Once you have activated personalization you can start creating dynamic elements - such as text, images, videos, URLs, etc.

You can also require that certain fields be personalized by your team, in order to complete the customization process - but that's up to you 🙌

Here's a look at configuring each dynamic field type:

Personalizable Text

This one is pretty straightforward. Set your default text value and you can configure the font and formatting back in the builder.

Personalizable Images & Videos

For both images & videos, you're able to set your default asset by either:

Screenshot 2025-04-17 at 9.48.52 PM

- Uploading a local image / video from your device

- Uploading an image / video via URL

- Browsing to select an existing image / video asset either from the Microapp Assets (specific to your project) OR Global Asset Library (if you don't see your Asset Library, make sure it's enabled for personalization in the library ☑️)

Personalizable URLs

Another straightforward configuration, simply copy / paste the URL that you want to show up by default. URLs are great for embedding third party tools - as well as other microapps 🎉)

Personalizable Emails & Phone Numbers

For both Emails & Phone Numbers, set your default value and the personalizable field will be configured for click-to-email and click-to-call.

Screenshot 2025-04-17 at 10.00.56 PM

Once you've set your personalizable fields with default values and formatted them to your liking - your team will be able to create Instances (versions) of the microapp - in which they can customize the fields to a given audience.

For more information on what their view will look like in Personalization Mode, see our article on Personalizing a Microapp - Creating an Instance.

Deleting Personalizable Fields

You're able to delete each personalizable field right from the modal - however you'll first want to reference the "In Use On" section to see everywhere that this field is being used within your microapp.

 Integrations

You're able to enable one of our Marketing Automation Integrations (Hubspot or Marketo) on a microapp by microapp basis - which will be shown here.

In turning on this integration, the views of your externally shared microapps will be shared to Hubspot or Marketo on the associated Contact records.

If either integration is not available for you to select, it'll route you to configure the integration in your Library Settings. For more on these integrations, check out our Knowledge Base articles on Hubspot and Marketo.
